This intergenerational ensemble will provide an opportunity for wind, percussion and string players to learn and perform quality full orchestra repertoire. Beginning students may wish to attend an instrument try-it day at a local music store to help choose an instrument. The orchestra will provide an educational opportunity, building a strong musical foundation for the beginning student. This ensemble is geared for the young string player to introduce and refine the basic skills.
Through the exchange of ideas and personal interaction, adults and children work together to create a musical experience that will last a lifetime. Bringing families together and helping to bridge the gap between generations, with all ages working together to provide an enriching service for the community. These intergenerational groups include many parent-child combinations, where adults and children learn from each other. In an effort to bring the community together, the Encore Community Music Association has three ensembles that rehearse on Monday evenings throughout the school year.
